Died Wells, 1923. and adorned with castle motif titled Inniskilling,10cm high, 13cm wide, 16cm deep$1,2002,000524A superb pair of embroidered and silk handkerchiefs, both with colourful embroidered Happy Christmas messages surrounded by holly and blooms; both then with added text in ink 6th Australian Field Ambulance Xmas Dinner 1917 with the signatures of numerous (if not all) the members of the Company who were present for the celebration. We have not attempted to count the signatures but note that both handkerchiefs carry different names. Remarkable survivors of life on the front lines in France. (2).The 6th Field Ambulance was the Field Ambulance Company of the 6th Brigade, which was based on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd 525 and 24th Battalions. The 6th Field Ambulance deployed to Gallipoli with the rest of the Division in August 1915, and then to France in 1916.
