Moir, during his time as manager of the large cattle run, Delta Downs Station, also known as Delta, or Delta Station. The property was in the Gulf Country, about 50 miles (80 km) north of Normanton. The five images were almost certainly all once in the possession of the Moir family. Two are of the captured Aborigine named Cumjam, who was alleged to have murdered Ferguson, a stockman, at Mentana Station, from where another stockman walked to Delta Downs Station for assistance. To the verso of one of Cumjams photographs is a pencilled ownership inscription for Moirs son, John (Jack) Kinmont Moir. Another shows Jack as a child at Delta with his Aboriginal playmates, Daisy Bell and Rose Marie. Delta gins, depicts a small group of Aboriginal women and the final 433 photograph is of a group of Aboriginal men who were presumably also workers at Delta Downs Station, which is situated on the land of the Kurtijar people, to whom the station was returned in the 1980s, becoming Australias first cattle station to be run by Traditional Owners. Expanded by the addition of Maggieville Outstation and Karumba Downs, the station now occupies one million acres and runs up to 45,000 cattle.$1,0001,500434 435'
